Milwaukee’s inviting and accessible yoga studio, Yoga Ward is conveniently located in Historic Walker’s Point with free street parking.
Yoga Ward is proud to offer some of the most unique and highest quality yoga classes that Milwaukee has to offer. In addition to classes and workshops, Yoga Ward also hosts a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Program that is registered with Yoga Alliance.
The studio is bright, clean and spacious with exposed cream city brick. The community at Yoga Ward is very warm, friendly and supportive. Dean Farrell, the founder of Yoga Ward, had one goal in mind and that was to provide a warm and non-intimidating environment for people of all backgrounds and levels to explore mind, body and soul.
Dean quickly blossomed in the Milwaukee yoga community upon his arrival. His unique flow and style was something new to Milwaukee. Always keeping a down to earth sense of humor, Dean had a way of making people feel comfortable with their practice. More men started to show up in classes, creating a diverse group of students. Word kept traveling and classes were packed with the demand for more. In addition to busy classes throughout the city, Dean maintained a large base of private clients. Students began making requests for Dean to start his own studio so he could offer more classes. Yoga Ward opened and quickly grew with loyal students spreading the word.

I just moved to Milwaukee from Chicago in September – with all the stress from the move and work I got to a point where my neck and shoulders were so tense and I felt consistently on edge. My friend invited me to a Detox Kinetic Flow Yoga class with Dean Farrell. To be honest I was a bit skeptical that this would really de-stress me but mid-way through the class I started to begin relaxed and calm – the heat also really does help with this. I have been to many Yoga classes but this was by far the best that I have been to. It didn’t feel mechanical – it wasn’t just a set of poses. The way that Dean set up the class forced me out of my head and really made me connect with my body and my breathing. Yoga Ward is by far my favorite studio in Milwaukee. Dean and his staff have created a place where you can feel comfortable practicing at your own level while still being able to challenge yourself and learn new things. Yoga Ward is, hands down, the best yoga studio I have ever experienced. Dean, Jaimi and the rest of the staff teach challenging and invigorating classes while supporting and inspiring students to improve their practices no matter what their current level. The community is welcoming and social from day one and the space is beautiful. As a lifelong runner, my hips and hamstrings hampered my flexibility. Since I started practicing at Yoga Ward, I have increased my strength, lost weight, become much more flexible and I sleep better. I try to get to Dean’s classes as often as possible. I have been a fan of Dean for many years and am thrilled to see Yoga Ward doing so well. I am thankful for all the wonderful new teachers Dean has introduced us to- each with their own unique style. I came to yoga after being a distance runner for 24 years. I had a bad hamstring and misaligned hips, and I knew I could not continue running like I had been. At first I was resistant to the idea of yoga because I didn’t think it could provide the physical challenge I thrive on. Dean provides an intense, athletic practice, and I am stronger, more flexible, focused, and balanced than I have ever been. I am grateful for his simple wisdom, good humor, and tough sequences. I am relatively new to yoga, but I have always felt welcome and comfortable in classes at Yoga Ward. The instructors find a balance where beginners and those more experienced can practice side by side and all come out challenged and inspired. I love this studio.~Laura
